The scene starts with Banquo and Fleance entering the court of the castle. They started talking amongst themselves about the night, until Macbeth enters with his servant. He says ‘give my sword’ to Banquo, Banquo looks very puzzled because Macbeth is going to take a sword into the king’s room. Then Banquo asks who’s there, as he is starting to get a little curious, he answers a ‘friend’. This shows that Vanquo looks very curious as the reason why Macbeth is bringing the sword inside the king’s bedroom. Macbeth and Banquo mention three weird sisters (the witches). Also Banquo mentions that he thinks a lot about them and what they had said; Macbeth on the other hand is not worried about the words the witches had said to him. As Banquo and Fleance trust him, they leave. Macbeth then tells the servant to go check up on the mistress (Lady Macbeth), also he said to the servant that when his drink is ready to ring the bell; then go to bed. He then starts with a really long soliloquy where he talks about power and how power can turn you. Furthermore he talks metaphorically about a dagger which is the power that he has right now over choosing to kill Duncan or not. Although he comes to a conclusion to kill Duncan, after the really long soliloquy I srongly suggest that he will feel guilty after the murder.
