My first impression of Friar Lawrence in the the play is that he plays a very fatherly part. “That’s my good son” This shows that Friar Lawrence loves Romeo like a son and is very proud of him. Also he is very understanding as Romeo always comes to him for advice. He is very keen to marry Romeo and Juliet as it will change their families pure hate to pure love, however it could also call a lot of trouble.

Romeo has arrived very early in the morning to visit the Fair “What early tongue so sweet salutethme?”

Romeo hasn’t been clear in his explanation ” Riddling confession finds but riddling shrift”

Shakeapeare stages Juliet higher up in the balcony to show that Romeo is contemplating Juliet. It also shows that also Rome look up to her like a goddess.

The film interpretation of the balcony scene is different from the original scene because it is set in the modern day unlike the original scene which is set in a much older mansion. In the film interpretation Romeo breaks in the house to find Juliet and he expects to find her in her balcony but instead the nurse is there. Juliet is at the same level as Romeo when she exits the elevator, however in the original scene Juliet is in a balcony and Romeo is on the ground to show how he contemplates her like a goddess. Also in the film interpretation Juliet shows body sings in the swimming pool of how she wants to stop because she doesn’t want him to get caught.

1. Romeo says this because he doesn’t care about his surname is a enemy to her and it doesn’t matter that their families hate each other.

2. Juliet is questioning the  values of naming things because even if he is a Montague she still loves him.

3. Juliet is saying that if Romeo gets caught he will get murdered and it is also very hard to escape.

02.11.16

1. ‘He jests at scars that never felt a wound’ Mercurio is laughing at Romeo about him falling in love because Mercutio has never been in love before.

2. It means ignore your father because names don’t matter

3.his name is irrelevant because all they care about is love and names are jus words

18.10.16

1. The old desire is Rosaline.

2. Rosaline is not beautiful anymore because he has fallen in love with Juliet.

3. Romeo has been witched by the charms of looks.

4. Juliet’s opinions do not count so she is not allowed to go out anywhere she wants with Romeo.

5. Romeo’s and Juliet’s love is very powerful as when they first met  they rhymed each others words which shows how strong their connection is.

Naive-Juliet

Short-tempered-Lady Capulet

Thoughtful -Nurse

My first impression of Juliet is that she is still a innocent child and doesn’t have much experience of the real world.
